Seafair & VIP Tour of Navy Vessels

The beloved Seafair Program will again bring inspiring speakers to Seattle 4 Rotary as we celebrate Seafair’s 70th Anniversary and Seattle Fleet Week. Past Seafair Royalty Ron Sims (former King County Executive) and Mona Locke (former First Lady of Washington) will introduce the 2019 King Neptune and Queen Alcyone. The main program will showcase RDML Yvette Davids, Commander, Carrier Strike Group 11 sharing her journey from participating in Seafair Fleet Week in 1997 as an ensign, to now commanding a Pacific Northwest based Carrier Strike Group as a leader in the U.S. Navy.

Due to schedule changes in Fleet Week, the Parade of Ships will take place earlier in the week, however all Rotarians and guests are invited to a VIP Tour of the U.S. Navy vessels at the adjacent Pier 66 following the July 31 Rotary Program. Rotarians interested in this special tour will be directed to the gathering place following the meeting. Tour guests MUST bring a government-issued ID, wear closed-toe shoes and pass through a security checkpoint. No backpacks, open-toed shoes, strollers, marijuana, illegal substances or weapons allowed. 

Seafair Fleet Week Ships are moored at the following piers:

• US Navy Vessels – Pier 66
• USCG Cutter– Pier 66
• Canadian Forces Navy Vessels – Pier 69
