Volunteers will support the Family Store program extension, providing holiday gifts for children facing homelessness and hardship. Tasks will include sorting incoming gifts, or packing orders to go directly to families. It will include light lifting and walking. Day of tasks will vary based on our greatest needs.
We will need a list of all volunteers we should expect by December 10th. As always, returning volunteers will not need to complete the application again. New volunteers will need to complete the volunteer application: https://wellspringfs.org/volunteer-form/.
Additionally, we would be so grateful if Rotary or members participated in our holiday gift drive! Let me know your thoughts. It is my pleasure to also share the Gift Drive Toolkit and additional ways to engage below. If you have any questions, please reach out anytime.
An additional date to keep in mind: Change is Brewing December 10: At Reuben’s Brews in Ballard! This annual fundraiser will feature photos with Santa and a lot of cheer. Reuben’s will donate $1 to Wellspring for each pint sold, and we will have lots of fun spin-the-wheel prizes.

As a follow-up to our short program on 1-29-2025, The Seattle Rotary Education Committee is excited to present volunteer opportunities for Rotarians to assist students struggling with reading and math skills. One of the SRSF grants this year supported School Connect WA, which launched the Read Seattle Movement.
We encourage you to consider becoming a mentor to help young learners. On Saturday, March 15th, at 2 PM, the Read Seattle Community Coalition will host a literacy awareness and recruiting event at Holgate Church of Christ, 2600 S. Holgate St. Our goal is to get individuals to sign up to become reading tutors. The Seattle Mayor, Seattle City Council, King County Council, Seattle School Board Members, and other officials have been invited to this vital community event.
Your presence and support at the March 15th event will go a long way in bringing attention to this huge opportunity. Scan the QR code on the attached flyer, or go to https://www.readseattle.org/sentencedfilm to register for the event. Please forward the attached flyer and invitation to other members of your organization.
