Good Vibes Abound at Wellspring Family Services Volunteer Event

Club members gathered in service this past Wednesday at Wellspring Family Services! After a brief presentation about Wellspring and a facility tour, members got to work unboxing and sorting donations for the low-barrier center.
Service events are a great way to amplify our impact as a club. Many hands make for light work! If you have never been to a club service event and are looking to socialize and sync with members in a more relaxed setting, please see details on our website club calendar and join us at these upcoming service events:
  • Saturday, April 13 - Rotary Boys and Girls Club Service Day
  • Satruday, April 20 - Lithium Ion Battery Recycling District Event
  • Late April (exact date coming soon!) - Peacebuilders Service Day at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center
  • Saturday, May 4 - Elwha River Exploration Day
  • Wednesday, May 22 - Wellspring Family Services Service Lunch Activity

Volunteers Needed!

The Boys & Girls Club is looking for reading mentors for three of their local area clubs. They are looking for volunteers that can read with one child twice a week for an hour. They would LOVE Rotarians to sign up for this program as it is effective in bringing K-4th grade students to reading at grade level in 10 weeks! To volunteer, CLICK HERE.

Elevate Your Leadership - Apply for Leadership Tomorrow!

Effective leadership is the foundation of thriving communities. CLICK HERE TO APPLY for Leadership Tomorrow’s Flagship Program and join a cohort of 80 Puget Sound leaders from the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. Together you will explore the interconnected issues that shape our region, develop and practice strategies and tools to become more effective leaders, and expand your personal and professional networks. Our club has a long-standing relationship with Leadership Tomorrow and many club members are graduates of the program.

Applications are due April 1 before 5 p.m. Check out LT’s website for more information, including upcoming Information Sessions.

SRSF Giving Update

SRSF:  The outreach to non-donors is having an impact as we now have 56% of our club members who have donated.  This is up 4% points from last week. We will continue to contact members and hope to get to at least 70%.  For those of you who have donated at the $1000 and above level, stay tuned for more information about an upcoming celebration in June.
TRF:  The club is only at 36% of members that have donated to TRF.  Last year, we came in at 50% and in order to get matching funds from the District 5030, we need to achieve 55% average over 2 years.  Therefore, we will need to get to 60% by the end of June in order to participate in matching funds.
Again, thanks to all of you who support our Service Above Self motto through your generous gifts.
Thank you!
Your SRSF Board of Directors

Elwha River Exploration Day!

Walk in the footsteps of NatureBridge students as you explore Elwha River restoration and its history with NatureBridge. We’ll utilize hands-on field science practices to help you understand biodiversity and ecological health, and how the ecosystem is changing post-dam removal.

You will start the day at our Olympic campus with a warm beverage and light snacks, including the world's best banana bread. You’ll have time to meet your fellow day adventurers while packing your lunchtime sandwich as we introduce NatureBridge and the Elwha River. Then we head out into the field to research sites on the Elwha where we will learn about the Elwha River, the impact of the dam in our local community and around the world! Please bring your own water, wear comfortable walking shoes and layers for the weather. The program will conclude on the Elwha River.

Registration is $10 and space is limited!

We hope you’ll join us for this fun and inspirational day!
