Do You Have Any Musical Instruments to Donate to Students in Need?
Music4Life is a non-profit and project of Rotary District 5030 that distributes musical instruments to public school students in need.
We welcome any gently used musical instruments you wish to donate. They can be delivered directly to these local music stores that are now open: American Music in Phinney Ridge and Kennelly Keys Music in Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Everett.
Please accompany your instrument with the PDF donation form, linked below.

Safety protocols we have put in place to make sure everyone feels comfortable:
Meetings are open to members and guests who RSVP and state that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Our meeting location has multiple entrances and means of access to the banquet room including escalators and elevators.
For those needing to pay for lunch, we will provide the option to prepay online to avoid congestion in the lobby.
The banquet staff will arrange tables and seating in accordance with regional health guidelines and best practices and we will follow state-mandated protocols at that time.
Extra seating will be set so reserving seats on either side is an option if you need extra space.
Color-coded wristbands will be available for each member and guest to indicate their comfort level with social greetings and conversation. These bands can be worn with the nametag or on the wrist.
red for those who would like to maintain a healthy distance from other attendees;
yellow for those who are ok with fist or elbow bump for contact;
green for those who are "huggers" and ready for interaction with vaccinated guests.
Microsoft President Brad Smith will examine the dual use of technology, which can be both a powerful tool that powers economies and communities and a formidable weapon that can undermine democracy and fundamental human rights. Join Brad as he takes you on a journey examining the role of technology in security, privacy, and sustainability, the greater responsibility that tech companies and governments must bear, and how technology can help the world respond, rebuild and reimagine our collective future.
On June 15, 1909, a small group which included Roy Denny, attended the first Rotary Club of Seattle meeting at the Stokes Ice Cream Parlor at 2nd Avenue and Madison Street, although some reports say the initial meeting was held at the Olympus Café in Pioneer Square. Regardless of location, it was on that date that our club was born.
Just ten years later, the newly formed Rotary District held their annual conference banquet at the newly built Hippodrome in 1921. It appears that several hundred Rotarians from around the Pacific Northwest were in attendance. Read more about how far we have come!
It is my honor to introduce our newest member, Brenda Barnes. Brenda is CEO of Classical KING FM. Her classification is Cultural Institutions, and her membership has been sponsored by Charlie Dickey. In addition to her work at the station, she’s been active in the community as a member of the Community Development Roundtable and the International Women’s Forum.
Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music, and real people will join together to thank President Jeff Borek for his year of service. Significant others are welcome. Plan to attend our first in-person event of the 2020-21 Rotary year!
Tickets are $10.00 per person and include two drink tickets. Cash bar for additional drinks.
To ensure everyone's safety, a vaccination or negative COVID test within 72 hours of the reception will be required to attend.
Our fellow member, Laurel James, invites you to join her at her six-acre compound in Lake Forest Park for a Family 4th of July Celebration! Come enjoy a day of fellowship and activities including basketball, softball, soccer, hiking, and running. Enjoy spending time by the creek on the property. Bring a potluck dish to share. There will be a keg of beer. If you desire other beverages bring them with you. Bring your basketball and or soccer ball. It will be a great day of family fun! The event is free but the capacity is 100 guests so please sign up in advance. There is parking on site.
A key part of the benefit of being a member of Rotary is the support we are able to provide to each other in tough times – It’s a key part of our Service Above Self credo.
You heard recently from our Past President Sten Crissy that one of the pillars of our Out for Blood campaign was to support some of our members who are fighting a battle with cancer. Our Rotary Cares Committee has been reaching out to our members to provide them support. One of those members currently fighting the good fight is Seattle 4 Past President Laura Rehrmann, who led our club with strength and grace in the 2013/14 Rotary calendar year. She recently reached out to say that she will be undergoing surgery this Friday at Swedish Medical on Cherry Hill, to remove a brain tumor. She would greatly appreciate the support of our membership in the form of - quoting Laura – your prayers and good vibes. Take a moment now to reflect on her request in a way that’s appropriate for you and send your love her way.
Our Rotary Cares team is ready to listen and to support you. One of the wonderful things about our club is that you have many friends --you just need to reach out to tap into our amazing network of caring people. Please contact one of our Rotary Cares Committee Co-chairs listed below to let us know how we can help.
