Why I’m Still a Republican – The Two-party System in America

Some say there are four political parties in America: Biden Democrats, Sanders/AOC Democrats, Trump Republicans, and Reagan/Bush Republicans. On election day, however, only two major parties are listed. Is that going to remain the case? I will explain why I think the two-party system is here to stay, and what that means for Republicans like me who were not Trump supporters.

Dear Seattle 4 members and friends,

A number of our club’s members have been stricken with cancer and are fully engaged in battles for survival without certain outcomes.  When any of us become aware of such illnesses, our immediate response is one of helplessness; we struggle for what we can possibly say or do.  In the case of cancer, there is something significant we can do and that is to donate blood or platelets. Both are critical components in fighting cancer.

Your blood donation may not reach our ailing Rotary friends directly, but your donation will replace the units our friends require, and for that, we can promise you, they will be extremely grateful.

Below is a list of Seattle 4 blood donors who support this effort. If you choose to join them and make a blood donation, please let Sten know (stencrissey@gmail.com). Once advised of your generosity the Rotary Cares Committee will write a personal note to each of our known cancer-afflicted members. The note will express your care and concern and let them know YOU have made a blood donation in their honor.

Also, if you know of a member who is fighting cancer, has made their condition public, and might appreciate receiving such a care card, please inform Sten so he can add them to our Rotary Cares list.

Your generosity will help save lives.

Thank you!

Nancy. C. Buffington passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 15th.  Nancy's closely-held belief in Service above Self, the Rotary motto, and her commitment to it was evidenced as she served Seattle Rotary 4 in various leadership positions and in 2005-2006 served as President.  Puget Sound Business Journal included Nancy in their list of  Women of Influence in 2006.  Click here to read more.
