Action Over Rhetoric: Connecting with the Next Generation on Environmentalism
Millennials and Gen Z are prioritizing environmental issues more than any other generation in history. As such, companies, politicians, and leaders (at all levels) are wondering how to engage the next generation. Benji Backer, a national leader in the environmental community, will speak during Earth Week about the numerous ways to engage with younger generations on these issues — and how unifying action is far more important than divisive rhetoric.
Our opening music video today was the song Celebration performed by kids from all over the world, as recorded by Playing for Change.
Celebration" is a song released in 1980 by Kool & the Gang from their album Celebrate! It was the band's first and only single to reach number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2021, the Library of Congress selected Celebration for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or artistically significant.”
