Annual Diplomacy Day Meeting

This year, our spotlight is on Taiwan, the host country for the 2026 Rotary International Convention. We are honored to welcome May Lin, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Seattle, as our featured speaker. Her past assignments include serving as the Deputy Director-General in their Boston office, and as Consular Officer in Chicago. Together, we will enjoy a Taiwanese-inspired menu, share memories from Taipei, and hear Director General Lin’s insights regarding Taiwan’s strategic and geopolitical role in the Pacific.

We are rolling out a new restructured corporate membership type! With added promotional benefits, we hope you consider “levelling up” your membership OR help us promote this new membership level among your professional circles.

Costs and benefits include:

    Initiation fee: $400

Annual dues: $3,000 (includes lunch meetings)

Minimum SRSF donation: $500/year
One lead member, plus a backup attendee (custom memberships available upon request)

Hyperlinked logo on website and weekly newsletter

Opportunity to host a program slot or club event (e.g. a happy hour at your business)

Invitation to the SRSF Pinkham & Skeel Reception (if donating at the higher $1,000 + major donor level)

Community service opportunities
We can also work with groups to create custom corporate membership types to accommodate needs! Please contact Nicole Klein or Collin Olden if you want to learn more!

One of the most meaningful ways your support of the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation comes to life is through grants that strengthen our community. The 2027-2028 grant cycle is now open, with applications accepted from October 1, 2026 through February 14, 2027.

Funding for approved projects will be available beginning July 1, 2027.

If there is a nonprofit doing important work in our community that could benefit from Seattle Rotary support, we encourage you to connect with them and help them explore this opportunity. The application and advocate information are available on the Local Service Committee and International Service Committee pages.

Together, we can ensure that the funds entrusted to the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation continue to make a lasting impact across our region.

Taproot Theatre
The day’s main program featured Taproot Theatre that is celebrating 50 years of live theatre since its founding in 1976 by six friends. Taproot has since evolved into a robust professional theatre company attracting more than 100,000 people annually to its home theatre in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood, for one of its five mainstage shows and the annual holiday production, plus community outreach and school programs.

Nancy Cahill’s reflection on her early theatre experience provided the day’s inspiration. She explained how performing built her confidence, sharpened her public-speaking skills, and taught her to speak up. At any level, live theatre can help people overcome shyness, find personal fulfillment, and make a lasting difference in young performers’ lives.

The day's song was performed by two talented cast members from Taproot Theatre's new production, Smoke on the Mountain. Rotarians get a 20% discount on all tickets using the code ROTARY26, and a group night is planned later in October.
