The Economic and Social Impact of the Arts and the State of the Sector

Michael Greer, President and CEO at ArtsFund, will discuss the state of the creative sector today and discuss how we can secure the benefits of arts and culture for the future.

With degrees in economics, education, and business, Michael brings a diverse skill set to the role and a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of the sector. Greer is a dedicated community partner and serves on several boards including the Downtown Seattle Association, Inspire WA, Puget Sound Regional Council's Economic Development District, Seattle Regional Chamber of Commerce, and United Way of King County. Greer is also a dedicated husband and father and enjoys calling the Pacific Northwest his home.

Rotary Youth Exchange & Waterfront Insights from Bob Donegan

 

President Beth called Seattle Rotary Club #4  to order at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, November 09, 2022. The meeting was held via Zoom and at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. President Beth said that November was Native American Heritage Month and that we should recognize them for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the growth of the United States.

Urban Artworks Community Art Support

Urban Artworks, the group that the Art Committee worked with for the banner project, would love some Rotary support.  If any Rotary member are interested in getting messy, working with a group that supports youth BIPOC artists, and helping the community look better, here are some opportunities.

2023 Africa Malaria Tours

Thursday, February 9 - Thursday, February 16 2023 (Zambia) and Thursday, February 16 - Tuesday, February 21 2023 (Tanzania)

Join Seattle Rotary as we visit our malaria partners in Africa during this extensive two-part tour. Rotarians have the option of attending both tours or one of their choosing. The tours include all hotel accommodation, meals, beverages (beer and wine included), gratuities, airport/hotel transfers, ground transportation, and in-country flights between tour legs. Music4Life is a non-profit and project of Rotary District 5030 that distributes musical instruments to public school students in need. 

We welcome any gently used musical instruments you wish to donate. They can be delivered directly to these local music stores that are now open: American Music in  Phinney  Ridge and Kennelly Keys Music in Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Everett.
